Analog is entering the final stages of testing for its EVM compatibility layer. Powered by PolkaVM, this new environment gives developers what they have been asking for: speed, affordability, and full compatibility with the Ethereum toolchain without forcing them to change how they build.

Here's a breakdown of everything you can expect once it's launched.

Same Tools And Workflows

If you already build on @ethereum, the transition to Analog EVM is set up to be as smooth as possible.

It supports Solidity, works with Hardhat, Foundry, MetaMask, and other familiar tooling, and does not require any rewrites or new learning curve.

Our initial benchmark tests show significantly better execution performance and gas efficiency than standard EVMs which will make room for new classes of dApps that previously hit technical or cost ceilings.

You can now run more logic per transaction, support real time interactions, and handle more complex use cases without sacrificing things like affordability or user experience.

Ship Faster With Lower Costs

Most chains force developers to make tradeoffs between performance, cost and security. Analog EVM reduces those tradeoffs.

PolkaVM compiles smart contracts to optimized machine code, delivering faster execution and meaningfully lower gas fees. That translates into:

  • Faster front-end response times

  • Smoother onchain UX

  • Higher contract throughput

  • More expressive, creative app design

This lets builders think bigger: interactive games, advanced automation, modular infrastructure, real time DeFi strategies, and agent based systems all become more practical.

You no longer have to design your logic around limitations you can build what you intended from the start.

A Better User Experience by Default

DApps built on Analog EVM will feel faster, cost less to use, and offer greater functionality without hidden tradeoffs. That means better conversion rates, more retained users, and more freedom to design meaningful in app interactions.

Looking Forward: Omnichain Without Complexity

Looking ahead, Analog EVM will not exist in a vacuum. It is also being built to operate as part of Analog’s broader omnichain ecosystem. That means your smart contracts on Analog will eventually be able to interact with other chains through General Message Passing (GMP), without wrapped assets or complex bridge logic.

Note that omnichain features for Analog EVM are part of our future roadmap and will be deployed as a second iteration of our EVM move.

The Bottom Line

Analog EVM gives you the power of Ethereum development with none of the baggage. You keep the same tools, same language, and same workflows but with better performance, lower costs, and a clear path to cross chain functionality.

If you’re building a dApp that needs to scale, serve users in real time, or handle more logic per transaction, Analog EVM will feel like a major unlock. The constraints of traditional EVM chains are no longer your ceiling.

This is a better EVM for the applications of the future and it’s almost here!
